History and Development of ICT
Last day in my class in Educational Technology II, we discuss the history and development of ICT. ICT stand for information and communication technologies and are defined, for the purposes of this primer, as a “diverse set of technological tools and resources used to communicate, and to create, disseminate, store, and manage information. The reporters discuss the evolution of computers. From abacus that invented by the Chinese develop by the Egyptian for taxation purposes, today we have the very sophisticated kind of computer that use in many purposes. Who can till what will be the future of ITC?
Information and communication technologies bring comfort in our life. We use this to communicate people from other side of the world. We use this to seek information that we need, especially for us who will be future teacher. We can use them to bring our cause publicly even we are in our home. Truly todays Information and communication technologies are powerful and influential in in the life of every people across any profession, age, culture and diversities in life. We are so lucky that we are born in this age; information is in the tip of our fingers. We had all the right to use thus technologies, but remember we should also be responsible in using them.
We can’t deny the fact that almost all of the people are acquitted by this technology, especially younger generation. As a pre service teacher I notice that that many of the students rely on these modern technologies. They use computer application to solve assignment especially in mathematics. They don’t realize that if they always depend on these technologies, will be technology-dependent and can’t solve by their own. My point is the technologies evolves and develop I the span of time, we people should also evolve and develop in our own. There is no short cut in learning it takes time. It is not easy, learning a painful process, but don’t be afraid because this the way to success.
